Industrial PhD Course

Industrial Phd Course Spring 2022

The course consists of online activities and 3 on-site modules:

  • Kick-off and Module 1

    Kick-off is day 1 of the module, approx. 10 AM - 5 PM for supervisors. Students stay overnight for the entire module.

    The best of both worlds - the potentials and pitfalls of mutual value co-creation in-between academia and practice.

  • Module 2

    Choose one of the following:

    Elective in Project management and organizational dynamics.

    Elective in Innovation.

    Elective in Communication.

  • Module 3

    Empowerment on the personal level: Incorporate career goals, keep up energy and manage the supervisory relationship in the Industrial PhD setting.

At registration you will be asked to choose your elective. The choice is not binding but indicative for course management and teachers. Please read more about each Module under Course content or download the pdf at the top of the site.

ECTS

The course runs over a period of 12 months. It is highly recommended to take the course during the first year of PhD studies. The course covers 5 ECTS points.

Course participation is assessed as passed / not passed. The evaluation is ongoing and assessed by evaluation of students’ participation in all course activities; i.e. through 1) active participation in the activities carried out in and between classroom education; 2) submission of all the study products and online activities defined for each module; and (3) completion of feedback cycle.

Cumulated working hours are 137.

Teachers

Jacob Lyngsie: Module Coordinator for Module 2 on Entrepreneurship. Associate Professor, Department of Marketing & Management, Strategic Organizational Design, University of Southern Denmark.
John Christiansen: Module Coordinator for Module 2 on Project Management.
Marcus Møller Larsen: Marcus M. Larsen, PhD, is a Professor (MSO) of Strategic and International Management at Copenhagen Business School (where he also obtained his PhD) and an Adjunct Associate Professor at BI Norwegian Business School. Marcus is the Course Leader for the Industrial PhD Course.
Mirjam Godskesen: Module Coordinator for Module 3. Independent Consultant in UNWIND, Part-time lecturer, Aalborg University (AAU). Coach and researcher. Specialized in doctoral education and project management.
Rikke Kristine Nielsen: Module Coordinator for Module 1 and Module 2 on Communication. PhD in Global Leadership, External Lecturer, Department of Organisation, Copenhagen Business School & Assistant Professor, Department of Communication, Aalborg University Copenhagen

This course is mainly for Industrial PhD students chosen and funded by Innovation Fund Denmark.
